Photograms!

Wed Jul 29, 2009, 9:51 PM
And now for something completely different... sometimes you need variety in what you are doing. So I did some photograms of leaves for the novelty.

  • Listening to: Loreena McKennitt
  • Reading: Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Ambitious Guest
  • Watching: nada
  • Playing: with my camera! It's fun!
  • Eating: Cake crumbs!
  • Drinking: Water.

Devious Info

  • Current Residence: is very very messy.
  • Interests: Piano, Photography, Bicycles, Cooking, Euphemisms
  • Favourite movie: Blazing Saddles
  • Favourite band or musician: Several
  • Favourite genre of music: Several
  • Favourite artist: Hans Schwathe (my great-great grandfather)
  • Favourite poet or writer: Anne Sexton
  • Favourite photographer: Robert Frank, Alexandra Boulat
  • Favourite style of art: One I can do.
  • Operating System: One that works
  • MP3 player of choice: I still use CDs.
  • Shell of choice: Pie shells... preferably baked, with sugar dumped on them right out of the oven and served hot.
  • Wallpaper of choice: White, so I can paint crazy designs on it.
  • Skin of choice: Tanned... but not fake-baking. Real sun looks better than spraypaint or bedtanning.
  • Favourite game: Galaga
  • Favourite gaming platform: Atari 2600
  • Favourite cartoon character: Slappy Squirrel
  • Personal Quote: Living is art if you do it right.
  • Tools of the Trade: A 30-year-old SLR (no autofocus), 35mm black-and-white film, and photo paper.

WOw, so you commented on my one photo and so I took a look at your gallery. I absolutely love a lot of your photos. There's just something about real film photography.

Thank you! I love film so much-- and (as silly as it sounds) I think my old film camera does focus falloff a lot more prettily than modern ones.

No problem (: and oh yeah they do. Film just has more authenticity to it to begin with. I wish I had a flash for my manual camera, I'd use film a lot more often ):

Thank you!

Does your camera have a shoe for a flash, or is it a kind that doesn't?
If it does, you can find them cheap if you just dig around. I'd also recommend getting a sync-cord for it so you can use the flash without having it screwed on top of your camera--- you can get the light from different angles that way.

It has a shoe, I've just yet to get a flash for it. But thanks for the info on sync cords, I'll look into that.
